The “Dragon Fighters” is the nickname given to the NYC firehouse located in Chinatown. This tour is a celebration honoring their heroism and the survivors of “Stairwell B” during the attacks of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Follow the path taken by these first responders and learn how they withstood the collapse of a 110-story tower, while still inside it. By using historical photos of September 11th, we will chronicle the events of that day. Be astonished by the bravery of New York City’s firefighters, which includes the legendary “Dragon Fighters of Ladder Six.” Discover how the “Angel of Stairwell B” helped save a team of firefighters and miracle of the “911 surfer”, who rode down with 88 stories of imploding debris.

This tour concludes at the Memorial Plaza, where you will learn how the new World Trade Center was designed and constructed. You will be inspired by the cathedral arches of a $4 billion transit hub known as the “Oculus.” In addition, we will divulge where the secret underground vault containing $200 million of gold and silver was buried due to the collapse of the towers.

This is the definitive walking tour of Ground Zero featuring the heroes and survivors of September 11th. A portion of the proceeds from this tour will be donated to the Non-Profit FDNY Foundation.

I can’t rave about Frank and this tour company enough!!!! He was so knowledgeable and so passionate about what he does, you can’t help but feel every emotion he was feeling as it brought us back in time. This is a must do! I happened upon this tour by accident when my tour was cancelled 3 hours prior. (My gain) For anyone that is on the fence about this company DONT be! It was amazing! Small, but in my opinion far better than any large tour out there. Frank was amazing !! Pictures and all !! Would highly, highly recommend. Don’t miss this! Sincerely, Lisa Strydio , Keansburg, New Jersey

What an Amazing Dragon Fighters 911 tour with Frank! So informative & heartfelt!! Even our grandson Kamron was fully engaged /mesmerized during the entire tour, the time flew by and even a bit of a shower at the end of our tour did nothing to dampen the effect it had on our day. Kudo’s Frank for a Fantastic job of sharing the amazing behind the scenes story of 911, it’s heroes & it’s effect on All of the people of New York with us. We Will NEVER Forget! Richard is the organizer but his partner Frank is the amazing storyteller who gives a first-hand personal account of the stories behind the World Trade Center bombing. I learned so much that I did not know. I have taken tours all over the world and this was the most educational, moving and memorable. It was a great walking tour not too far but covered everything. He had wonderful and impactful visual aids. Our group had people from all around the world and everyone enjoyed it.

This tour is extremely well organized and presented. Our guide Frank told a remarkable story of courage and strength against the backdrop of a historic tragedy. His love and respect for all the heroic firefighters resonated with everyone of us. Even my 8-year-old son stayed fully engaged for the entire 2.5 hours. This is an experience not to be missed.

Richard’s communication was great. He let us know about what was going on around the 4th of July holiday and how to find our tour guide, Frank. Frank was a great story teller and he had great photos of the places we stopped along the tour to show what the city went through and how far the city has come along since 9/11. I can’t recommend this tour enough. It really helps you to understand what the city was going through that day and appreciate how much work it has taken to get everything back to where it is.

Very interesting 2 hours tour with Frank who had some real stories to explain us about 9/11. We appreciated also that Frank showed us some pictures of the places we visited. Our teenagers really appreciated as well and the use of photos was fine since they were not born at that time.

A recommander.

This AirBnB experience was really an unexpected surprise. Richard and the tour guide have welcomed me in front of the chapel. From there we started our 2 hour round trip. And as announced, this was off the normal track, around the One World Center and the Ground Zero Monument. Frank the tour guide has put me back with his stories in the time when the disaster happened. He told me about individual destinies, the thoughts and emotions of the people, quick decisions that had to be taken and the effects to this day. He talked about the New Yorkers’ dealings with this disaster, reconstruction, and of some of the great heroes. Thank you Frank for these unforgettable two hours. It was a special experience for me, which I can really recommend.

Wow! I’m not a person that usually likes to take historical walking tours (usually because they have their own schedule, feel drawn out, and are only as good as the tour guide (which are mostly dull/superficial from my experience). But I felt very engaged during this tour because of the way it was presented. Andrew was my tour guide and he did a great job at educating me but also entertaining me. Everything was presented as a story, which made the places we walked by and the events that took place there feel more real. Everything was timed right and well – organized. I Richard and Andrew are super. They gave me tons of recommendations of places to eat at and even had a list prepared for me. 10/10 would recommend this tour and other tours with them.

It was a truly emotional experience having a true New Yorker with personal ties to 911, take you on the journey through such a horrific moment in history. Thank you Frank! ❤️ Richard was professional and friendly and easy to communicate with! We really appreciated the extra information provided about places to eat and things to do during our visit! Thanks so much!

I find it hard to imagine how 9/11 was for the people in NY, but after this guided tour it starts to sink in. I’ve had the luck to be alone on the tour with two lovely guides who could tell me a lot about ground zero, and also about NY in general. I would recommend this tour to everyone who is curious about 9/11, but also check out the other tours from Richard because he is a guide that tells you more then most other guides. Totally worth it!

An excellent tour around the 9/11 memorial site. By walking the site with a knowledgeable tour guide, one gets a true understanding of the events and the impact. Can’t be replicated as a self guided tour – you won’t be sorry you took this tour.

This was an amazing yet emotional tour. The story and pictures were a great asset! Standing in the actual spots where all the events of 911 took place was very surreal & emotional. Learning all the people that lost their lives and all the 1st responders who put their lives at risk & some who lost their lives saving others was amazing to hear. It was very sad to think about. But seeing the waterfalls where each building was is amazing to see. I recommend anyone do this tour if they want to hear the true back story of the events that happened that day. The tour guides were great and kind!

Our guide was Frank who works with Richard, who was there also. Richard greeted us by name and introduced Frank, a native “New Yawker” which added to the tour. It includes lots of pictures, a detail that sets it from other tours we saw go by. Standing in a place that has been repaired, renewed, it was very impactful to see what it looked like the day of 9/11. You appreciate the enormity of that day and the transformation so much more because of the pictures. A moving tour filled with lots of great stories from Frank. High,y recommend!

Well we were not exactly with Richard. We were with someone that Richard had contracted. Aside from this slight change in who was actually doing the tour, the tour itself was very informative. Being in a small group made it possible to ask questions and talk more in depth and yet keep pretty much to the schedule.

Our guide was Frank, not Richard. Frank was great, had lots of information and was patient. We did have a small group and the weather was windy and cold, but he did a great job of going over everything and answering questions. The only advice I’d give is there are free tickets for the museum on Tuesdays and you should pick them up after this tour and then get a bite to eat because they give them out from about 3:30-4:30 with a later entry time vs. paying and having immediate admission. I’d go on another tour with Frank again!

A fascinating tour around the area of the World Trade Center well organised by host Richard and expertly guided by the lovely Frank. Sounds wrong to say we enjoyed it bearing in mind the subject matter but there was just the right balance between information, pictures from 9/11 and the human stories that came out of that tragic day. Great attention to detail. Great care of my family group. Lovely interaction with other workers as we walked around. It was quite long but as it was the hottest day of the year so far so we were all getting good exercise. Frank was the perfect guide. He stayed alongside us throughout answering all our questions and sharing from a oersonal perspective rather than just a scripted speech. I would say if you have the time its well worth doing. My daughter even got birthday balloons from Richard. Its that kind of touch that put it above any other guided tour of the site. Cant fault it. We had an experience we will never forget.

A great experience of World Trade Center sites with a narrative-style tour. Both Richard and his partner were very friendly and considerate of my interests. We Loved our Tour with Frank! He did a great job of explaining details of what had happened on 9/11. For someone who was not a New Yorker he shared details that the average American would have not known. At the end of the tour we felt that frank was our buddy and not a tour guide. We were very happy with the choice of picking Thermosage for our walking tour.

Frank was absolutely brilliant! He’s a natural tour guide. I told stories of the bravely of ladder 6 and how the rescued many people during September 11th. Frank was very entertaining but still remained respectful of the Memorial. I already loved and know New York pretty well, having visited 6 times in 8 years. But Frank still came up with great suggestions of where to visit and places to eat. Frank is a knowledgeable, passionate, well-spoken, guide. I recommend this tour especially with Frank to everyone!

A telling of the events of 911 through the experiences of a firefighter unit. Thorough and a good walk around the entire area. Perhaps a little too-much detail but great enthusiasm for the subject matter. Knowledgeable tour guide and able to answer all of our questions. It is long so if you don’t have the patience for it, chose something shorter. Our group enjoyed it very much.

This was a really great tour. Our tour guide Andrew did an amazing job narrating the events of 9/11. He included the story of ladder 6 the survivors of stairwell b. It was a cold day so I was glad most of the tour took place indoors. Our guide had many historical photos of that day. He used those photos as a contrast between how a place looked during the day of 9/11 and how it looks today. Wow! Revealing!! Worth every penny. If possible, get Andrew as your tour guide.
