Free Kayaking

Fab, Fun, Free!

The city has some of the most scenic waterways in the country. Imagine your backdrop is the skyline of Manhattan or the Statue of Liberty. Regardless if you're a resident, a visitor, or just seeking some excitement, 20 minutes on the water might brighten your day.

With at least 9 locations throughout the boroughs, New York offers some of the best free kayaking around. They're open to the public and no reservations are necessary for walk-ups. But the lines might be long on busy days. Most locations also offer complimentary beginner's classes. All locations are supported by corporate sponsors and donations. One should email ahead to confirm classes and operating hours. Kayaks and safety equipment are provided.
